Grand Lake
Grand Lake is in the north central part of Grand County at the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and in the Three Lakes area of Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake. Lake Granby is a reservoir and one of the largest ones in Colorado. Shadow Mountain Lake is also a manmade lake and is used primarily to convey water from Lake Granby to divert it over the Continental Divide to towns and farms on the Eastern Slope. Grand Lake is the largest natural lake in Colorado, and the one from which the town takes its name. The town has long been a favorite of summer visitors from across the country. The town also has a number of winter activities including snowmobiling & cross country skiing.
